Meet the director

Deb Girdwood co-founded the Northwest Film Forum in 1995 with Jamie Hook. Between 1995 and 2001, Girdwood wore the hats of Managing Director, Program Director, Special Series Curator, Director of Promotions and Publicity, and Board President. In 2001 she departed from the organization to write a feature film with Hook, THE NAKED PROOF, which was successfully produced and is now in the indie film festival circuit. After the premiere of THE NAKED PROOF, Girdwood left Seattle to spend time on the East Coast with family. Girdwood continues to develop scripts, and is currently completing a feature length screenplay, ROUTE 1, with a Massachusetts filmmaker, P.H. O'Brien. In September 2004 she relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota where she resides with Monsieur Hook and their two young daughters, Ivy and Ursula. She plans to stay a while, continue work in film, and wants to change the world through children's cinema. Besides developing and presenting Childish Film Programs, she plans within the year to produce a Childish Films DVD for distribution.
